Is Morphine legal in Laos?

- Morphine is a scheduled narcotic under Laos's Narcotics Law and is death-eligible: producing, trading, transporting or possessing more than 500 g of morphine or heroin carries the death penalty (Article 146(1)), subject to a de facto moratorium.

- Use and small-quantity possession draw fixed-term imprisonment; trafficking or possessing more than 500 g of morphine is death-eligible under Article 146(1).
- If prescribed or medical
- Handled as a controlled narcotic for severe and cancer pain where available.
- Documentation
- Carry a prescription and original packaging and confirm import rules with Lao authorities before travel.
