Is MDPV legal in China?

- Controlled. MDPV was placed under national control by name on the Supplementary List of Controlled NPS (Measures for the Control of NPS), effective 1 Oct 2015 in the batch of 116 NPS. Capital reach is left to confirmation: there is no MDPV-specific capital quantity, and the Criminal Law art. 347 large-quantity catch-all is applied in practice to named drugs (heroin/methamphetamine/opium) rather than confirmably to MDPV.
- Consequences if caught
- Illegal; possession and trafficking carry severe imprisonment. A drug-specific capital threshold for MDPV is left to confirmation. Do NOT carry.
- If prescribed or medical
- MDPV has no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route in China.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route for a controlled NPS; severe penalties, do not carry.
