Is MDA legal in Singapore?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 14, 2026
Legal status
Controlled — MDA is a Class A controlled drug named in the First Schedule to the Misuse of Drugs Act 1973 (with MDMA and MDEA). NOT death-eligible: MDA is absent from the capital Second Schedule (which names only opium/morphine/diamorphine/cocaine/cannabis/methamphetamine) — confirmed. 10 g of the MDMA/MDA/MDEA combination raises a trafficking presumption only, capped below death.
Consequences if caught
Class A: trafficking punishable by long imprisonment (~20-30 years) plus caning; consumption/possession severe — but NOT the death penalty for MDA-class amounts.
If prescribed or medical
Class A controlled drug with no recognised medical use; no lawful prescription route.
Documentation
No lawful personal import; MDA-class amounts are non-capital but attract heavy prison and caning.
