- Diazepam is expressly named as a Class D drug (the lowest of four classes) in the First Schedule Part IIIA of the Misuse of Drugs Act (Cap. 27).
- Consequences if caught
- Class D possession (s.6) up to 5 years and/or B$10,000; Class D trafficking (s.3) up to 5 years plus 3 strokes. Brunei's death penalty (MDA Second Schedule) applies only to enumerated narcotics/ATS above weight — no benzodiazepine appears in any capital column, so diazepam is not death-eligible.
