Is Delta-8-THC legal in Armenia?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified September 21, 2026
Legal status
Controlled in Armenia. The annex to Government Decision N 1129-Ն of 21 August 2003, at controlled lists 1 to 4, prints the entry «Տետրահիդրոկանաբինոլի բոլոր իզոմերները», and record ARM-33 matches it to delta 8 tetrahydrocannabinol on Chemical Abstracts number 5957-75-5. The row relied on is that printed line and not point 1 of the decision, which only directs that the list be approved and names no substance. The version read was the current incorporation of N 1129-Ն read together with amendment N 334-Ն of 26 March 2026, which took effect on 27 March 2026. The terms this row was searched under were «delta-8-THC» and «tetrahidrokanabinol», all of them Latin script, and the line they reached is printed in Armenian script, so the logged term set does not by itself explain how the line was found and the search record is incomplete. That does not weaken the finding, because the finding rests on the printed entry and its registry number rather than on the search that reached them. The accepted line is a class clause rather than a single molecule, reaching all isomers of tetrahydrocannabinol, and that is what carries the delta eight isomer without it being named. Two other rows of this set, tetrahydrocannabiphorol and hexahydrocannabinol, were deferred against the cocaine line instead of against this clause, and an all isomers clause does not obviously reach a homologue with a different side chain or a hydrogenated analogue. The dossier does not settle that.
Consequences if caught
Capital exposure: none. Armenia has abolished the death penalty and Article 393 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia provides no life sentence for a drug offence, so the real exposure is a term of years. The ceiling is 12 years' imprisonment under Article 393(3), and Article 393(4) to (6) measures the significant, large and especially large bands from the minimum small amount figure the Government sets, so the band rather than the raw weight is what the article prices. The placement is the printed annex line «Տետրահիդրոկանաբինոլի բոլոր իզոմերները», record ARM-33. Armenia states no lawful personal use allowance beneath that placement. This pass carries no printed small amount figure for it, so the number those bands multiply is not stated here and no band can be computed from this cell. The exposure rests on an isomer clause, so a product sold as a legal isomer is inside the entry if it is an isomer of the named parent.
If prescribed or medical
Armenia states no lawful personal use allowance for a scheduled substance, and Article 393(4) to (6) measures its significant, large and especially large bands from the minimum small amount figure the Government sets, which is a criminal threshold and never a traveller quota. A scheduled medicine must in addition satisfy the law on medicines, «Դեղերի մասին» Հայաստանի Հանրապետության օրենք, together with the prescription, packaging, import and customs rules that law carries. That is the country rule, and the placement it attaches to for delta 8 tetrahydrocannabinol is the printed annex line «Տետրահիդրոկանաբինոլի բոլոր իզոմերները», at controlled lists 1 to 4, record ARM-33. The dossier read for Armenia states no separate traveller allowance, no personal import quota and no per substance medical route, so none is stated here and anything beyond the country rule is left to the Armenian Ministry of Health. The enquiry must ask how far the isomer clause is read, because the clause and not a named entry is what carries this substance and its reach decides two other rows of this same table.
Documentation
Carry the prescription and the original dispensing packaging for any medicine containing delta 8 tetrahydrocannabinol, with a doctor's letter naming the patient, the active ingredient, the dose and the treatment period, and put the question to the Armenian Ministry of Health or the nearest Armenian embassy in writing before travelling rather than at the border. The placement carried against is the printed annex line «Տետրահիդրոկանաբինոլի բոլոր իզոմերները», record ARM-33, Chemical Abstracts number 5957-75-5. It was read on 20 September 2026 against the current incorporation of N 1129-Ն read together with amendment N 334-Ն of 26 March 2026, which took effect on 27 March 2026. The paperwork should state the isomer precisely, because the annex reaches this substance through an isomer clause and the isomer is the whole of the identification.
