Controlled in Armenia, and the printed lines are not the line the applied cell quoted. The հավելված to Government Decision N 1129-Ն of 21 August 2003 prints, in Ցուցակ N 1, the list of substances whose circulation is prohibited, two consecutive definitional lines standing between Կատա էդուլիս above and Կաթին below. The first begins «Կանեփ` բոլոր տեսակների, բացառությամբ Ցուցակ N 2-ում նշված կանեփի տեսակների», meaning hemp of all varieties except the varieties named in Ցուցակ N 2, and goes on to say that a variety named in Ցուցակ N 2 is also prohibited if it was produced without a licence or in breach of licence conditions. The second begins «Կաննաբիս` կանեփի տարբեր տեսակներից ստացվող պատրաստուկները» and covers preparations obtained from the hemp varieties whose tetrahydrocannabinol concentration exceeds what is permitted for the Ցուցակ N 2 varieties, expressly including marijuana and hashish oil as named sub limbs. The applied cell quoted a line «Կանեփ, Cannabis բույս» at a Chemical Abstracts number. That string is not printed in the annex, and the annex prints no Chemical Abstracts numbers. Two further statements in the applied cell fall with it. There is a potency limb: Ցուցակ N 2 carries «արտադրական կանեփ», industrial hemp, licensed, in which cannabidiol content exceeds tetrahydrocannabinol content and the tetrahydrocannabinol content of the sampled mass is equal to or below 0,3 percent. And these are not simple plant entries, because the exception in the first line and the concentration test in the second are what decide which list a given plant falls in. Read on 21 September 2026.

Consequences if caught

Capital exposure: none. Armenia has no death penalty and no life sentence for a drug offence. The entry relied on for cannabis is «Մարիխուանա». The ceiling is 12 years. Criminal Code article 393(3) provides a term of six to twelve years, and articles 393 and 396 carry the principal offences. That 12 year ceiling is the lowest of any country authored in this session, and it is the figure the article itself prints rather than a reading of a range. The quantity instrument prints this row as «0.5 to 2.5 g»; «>2.5 to 12.5 g»; «>12.5 to 62.5 g; especially large >62.5 g». A printed annex figure in Armenia is a small amount, not a threshold for the offence. The statutory multipliers at article 393(4) to (6) turn it into the significant, large and especially large bands.

If prescribed or medical

Armenia states no lawful personal use allowance for a scheduled substance, and Article 393(4) to (6) measures its significant, large and especially large bands from the minimum small amount figure the Government sets, which is a criminal threshold and never a traveller quota. A scheduled medicine must in addition satisfy the law on medicines, «Դեղերի մասին» Հայաստանի Հանրապետության օրենք, together with the prescription, packaging, import and customs rules that law carries. The placement this attaches to is the pair of opening lines of Ցուցակ N 1, «Կանեփ` բոլոր տեսակների» and «Կաննաբիս`», read against the industrial hemp line «արտադրական կանեփ» in Ցուցակ N 2. The applied cell said the enquiry must ask about plant material rather than about cannabinoid content because no potency limb is printed. That is the opposite of what the annex does. Potency is exactly what selects the list, so the enquiry has to state the tetrahydrocannabinol content, the cannabidiol content and whether the material came from a licensed producer. The dossier states no separate traveller allowance, no personal import quota and no per substance medical route.

Documentation

Carry the prescription and the original dispensing packaging for any medicine containing cannabis, with a doctor's letter naming the patient, the active ingredient, the dose and the treatment period, and put the question to the Armenian Ministry of Health or the nearest Armenian embassy in writing before travelling rather than at the border. The paperwork must be about potency, contrary to the applied cell. The Ցուցակ N 2 route turns on a tetrahydrocannabinol content at or below 0,3 percent of the sampled mass with cannabidiol content above it, and on the material having been produced under licence, so a certificate of analysis and the producer's licence are the documents that matter. Do not quote a Chemical Abstracts number, because the annex prints none. Read on 21 September 2026.
