Is CBD legal in Vietnam?
- Legal status
- CBD (cannabidiol) is controlled and illegal — cannabis (plant, leaves, flowers, resin) and delta-9-THC are List I 'absolutely prohibited' substances under Decree 57/2022/ND-CP, with no CBD/THC distinction or threshold, so low- or zero-THC CBD gets no exemption.
- Consequences if caught
- Administrative seizure applies at minimum, with criminal liability under the Penal Code drug offences scaling to life or death for trafficking quantities; personal-use possession of a List I substance is treated seriously.
- If prescribed or medical
- There is none — List I substances are absolutely prohibited, with no Epidyolex route.
- Documentation
- No documentation legalises CBD — a List I 'absolutely prohibited' substance; a foreign prescription does not permit entry.
