- Possessing a Schedule 4 medicine without a prescription is an offence under state law.
- If prescribed or medical
- Phenobarbital is prescribed as a Schedule 4 antiepileptic (a WHO Essential Medicine); the sedative-hypnotic barbiturates (secobarbital, amobarbital, pentobarbital) are now rarely used clinically.
- Documentation
- The Traveller's Exemption allows a 3-month supply carried with a prescription or doctor's letter.
