Is Amphetamine legal in Sudan?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified August 25, 2026
Legal status
Controlled psychotropic. Amphetamine is a Schedule II substance under the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances and Sudan files psychotropic assessments with INCB. The domestic statute is the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropics and Precursors Control Act 1994; no official Sudanese publication of its text was reachable during this pass, and the Ministry of Health domain (moh.gov.sd) does not resolve at all.
Consequences if caught
NOT CONFIRMED from a primary source. The Articles 15/16/17 aggravator description previously carried here rested on an NGO overview rather than the Act, and is withdrawn.
If prescribed or medical
Prescription availability NOT CONFIRMED. Sudan furnished INCB assessments for 10 psychotropic substances for 2026, including methylphenidate at 1,200 g, but furnished no amfetamine and no dexamfetamine assessment. Read this cautiously: on the narcotics side Sudan is one of the countries whose 2026 estimates carry the INCB asterisk, meaning the Board established the figures because the country never furnished its own, so Sudan's reporting is not uniformly complete.
Documentation
No reachable Sudanese regulator publishes controlled-medicine traveller rules. Civil war since 2023 makes enforcement unpredictable.
