- 7-Hydroxymitragynine, a kratom alkaloid, is itself a named scheduled narcotic in Switzerland: it and mitragynine were added to the narcotics schedules (Swissmedic ordinance, Oct 2017), and the plant is caught indirectly as their natural source — controlled together, with no differential threshold between leaf and isolate.

- Unauthorised possession or consumption draws a fine for personal use; trafficking draws imprisonment under the Narcotics Act (BetmG).

- No lawful medical route — the scheduled alkaloids have no Swissmedic-authorised product.
