Zolpidem is a psychotropic substance regulated by the Health Sciences Authority, transposing its 1971 Convention Schedule IV status; it is a prescription-only medicine and its import always requires prior HSA approval.

Unauthorised import or supply of this psychotropic without HSA approval is an offence under Singapore's strict controlled-drugs and psychotropic-substances regime, carrying severe penalties.
If prescribed or medical
Zolpidem is prescribed short-term for insomnia and obtained only on a valid Singapore prescription.
Documentation
A traveller must apply for HSA prior approval at least two weeks before arrival to carry zolpidem, generally limited to a three-month supply reviewed case by case.
