- Consequences if caught
- Personal possession is not a controlled-drug offence; recreational retail supply is restricted and canisters are seized (over 1,500 in the first quarter of 2025). No death penalty (non-DP).
- If prescribed or medical
- Nitrous oxide is a lawful medical/anaesthetic gas and food additive; medical and culinary use is permitted.
- Documentation
- Food-grade cartridges are available for culinary use; bulk canisters diverted to recreational inhalation are seized by the authorities.
