Is Methylphenidate legal in Cuba?

- Controlled categorically under the Penal Code (Law No. 151/2022, art. 235) as a psychotropic 'substance of similar effect'.
- Consequences if caught
- Personal use not itself criminal; possession/small trafficking 4–10 years, escalating with aggravators (aggravated trafficking up to death — targets large-scale narcotics). Methylphenidate is a licit medicine — carry a prescription.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescription ADHD/narcolepsy medicine (e.g. Ritalin/Concerta) via controlled channels; carry the original prescription and any required import permit.
