- Controlled — NAMED. Mephedrone is individually listed in ANVISA Portaria SVS/MS 344/1998 Lista F2 (proscribed psychotropics); synthetic cathinones/mephedrone added 2011 and the list maintained through 2024.
- Consequences if caught
- Lista F2 (prohibited): possession and trafficking under Lei 11.343/2006. Brazil has no death penalty in peacetime.
- If prescribed or medical
- Lista F2 proscribed psychotropic with no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route.
- Documentation
- No licit personal-import route for a Lista F2 substance.
