Is MDPV legal in Taiwan?
- Legal status
- Controlled. MDPV was Taiwan's first temporarily-scheduled NPS (end 2011) and is listed by name under the Controlled Drugs Act (Schedule 2/3). It is below the capital tier: capital under the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act art. 4 applies only to Category 1 (heroin, morphine, opium, cocaine), so MDPV as a Category 2/3 drug is not death-eligible.
- Consequences if caught
- Illegal; possession and trafficking carry imprisonment, but MDPV as a Category 2/3 drug is not death-eligible.
- If prescribed or medical
- MDPV has no recognised medical use and no lawful prescription route in Taiwan.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route for a controlled drug; do not carry.
