Is HHC legal in Switzerland?

- HHC (hexahydrocannabinol) is a controlled narcotic in Switzerland — added to the narcotics schedule of the FDHA Ordinance on the Lists of Narcotics (BetmVV-EDI, SR 812.121.11) on 31 March 2023.
- Consequences if caught
- Subject to the Federal Narcotics Act (BetmG) regime — unauthorised handling is penalised. Distinct from low-THC (below 1%) cannabis products, which Switzerland permits; HHC was expressly listed as a narcotic.
- If prescribed or medical
- No licensed HHC medicine exists.
- Documentation
- One of the earliest named listings in Europe (31 March 2023), pre-dating France and Germany; named because HHC's hydrogenated structure was not caught by existing THC entries. CND placed HHC in Schedule II of the 1971 Convention (in force 6 December 2025).
