Is Etizolam legal in Taiwan?
- Legal status
- Etizolam is a Category 3 (Schedule 3) controlled substance under the Narcotics Hazard Prevention Act, effective 5 December 2019.
- Consequences if caught
- Category 3 possession draws an administrative fine and drug education; possession-with-intent or sale ~3–10 years. The death penalty (Art. 4) applies only to Category 1 (and severe Category 1/2) — Category 3 etizolam is never capital.
- If prescribed or medical
- Controlled as a Category 3 substance under the Controlled Drugs Act.
- Documentation
- Carry a prescription and original packaging; a licence is needed to import/export.
