Legal status
DOM (STP) is a psychotropic substance under the NDPS Act 1985 (Schedule item, '2-amino-1-(2,5-dimethoxy-4-methyl)phenylpropane', STP/DOM), India's transposition of DOM's individual Schedule I listing under the 1971 UN Convention.
Consequences if caught
Possession and trafficking are offences under the NDPS Act with quantity-graded penalties, rising to 10-20 years for commercial quantities.

Scheduled psychotropic with no therapeutic use in India; not prescribable.
