Delta-8-THC in Morocco: not individually verified
Also known as: d8
We have not confirmed that Delta-8-THC specifically is scheduled in Morocco, so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.
- What is on record
- Not confirmed. The 1971 Convention tableaux as published by dahir 1-80-140 and printed at Bulletin officiel 3590 of 19 August 1981, page 404, carry « tétrahydrocannabinols, tous les isomères », tetrahydrocannabinols, all the isomers, in the 1971 Convention tableau I as printed in 1981. That is a treaty schedule and not a Moroccan criminal schedule. Dahir 1-80-140 is a publication dahir; the offences of dahir portant loi 1-73-282 of 21 May 1974 attach to substances classified as narcotics and inscribed in tableau B of the dahir of 2 December 1922, and that tableau was read on 3 October 2026 as abrogated and replaced by arrêté n° 1850-96 of 3 September 1996, Bulletin officiel 4422, pages 713 to 716. Delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol is in no named entry of that tableau B, which carries « Cannabis (chanvre indien) et résine de cannabis », « DMHP » and « Parahexyl » but no tetrahydrocannabinol entry and no isomer clause for one; whether a delta-8 product made from hemp or from cannabidiol is reached by the cannabis entry was not established. The isomer clauses of that tableau B attach only to the substances named in Annexe I, and an OCR text of tableaux A and C of 1966 returns no tetrahydrocannabinol entry. So the Convention placement is established and the domestic classification is not. Entry 10 is the only generic clause in the 1971 Convention table as printed in 1981, and delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol is squarely inside it: it is a positional isomer of delta-9 and shares the formula the chemical column describes, « hydroxy-1 pentyl-3 tétrahydro-6a,7,10,10a triméthyl 6,6,9 6H-dibenzo [b,d] pyranne ». No named delta-8 entry exists; the row rests on the isomer clause.
