Is CBD legal in Bangladesh?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 14, 2026
Legal status
CBD (cannabidiol) is controlled as cannabis — cannabis (ganja/charas), resin, extracts and preparations are scheduled under the Narcotics Control Act 2018 with no THC threshold or CBD exemption, so CBD is caught as a cannabis extract/preparation.
Consequences if caught
Penalties range through imprisonment to, for large quantities, life or the discretionary death penalty, and a traveller's CBD is treated as a cannabis preparation.
If prescribed or medical
There is no CBD prescription scheme.
Documentation
No documentation legalises CBD — treated as a cannabis preparation; a foreign prescription does not permit entry.
