Is Buprenorphine legal in Thailand?

Legal status
Buprenorphine is a controlled opioid under Thailand's Narcotics Code B.E. 2564 (2021) — a lighter tier than methadone — but it is NOT legally available (registered or dispensed) domestically; methadone is the sole agonist OST medicine in Thai clinics.
Consequences if caught
Unauthorised possession or supply of a controlled narcotic is an offence.
If prescribed or medical
Not dispensed domestically; opioid-substitution treatment in Thailand is methadone-based through public health centres.
Documentation
A traveller may carry up to 30 daily doses of prescribed buprenorphine with a doctor's letter; confirm with the Thai FDA.
