Is Adderall legal in Kuwait?
- Legal status
- Controlled psychotropic. Adderall is mixed amphetamine salts - roughly three parts dextroamphetamine to one part levoamphetamine - and has no separate legal identity in Kuwait; it is regulated through the amfetamine and dexamfetamine entries of the 1971 Convention schedules as implemented by Amiri Decree-Law No. 59 of 2025, whose Article 83 repealed Law No. 74 of 1983 and Law No. 48 of 1987. CORRECTION: this cell previously cited the decree as No. 159 of 2025; the state news agency report gives 59 of 2025.
- Consequences if caught
- Chapter Nine of Decree-Law 59/2025 provides death or life imprisonment plus fines of KD 100,000 to KD 2 million for trafficking, production or cultivation intended for trafficking, and death for organising an international trafficking operation. The published account of the decree names no substance and no gram threshold, so Adderall's position in that tier is not confirmed from a primary text.
- If prescribed or medical
- Dispensable on prescription. The dexamfetamine line is the one that matters for Adderall, and Kuwait furnished INCB a dexamfetamine assessment of 3,000 g for 2026 alongside amfetamine at 3,000 g. A US Adderall prescription is not a Kuwaiti one: bring it through the Ministry of Health permit route or leave it behind.
- Documentation
- Kuwait's Ministry of Health controls import permits for controlled medicines under the 2025 decree; its own site did not respond during this pass, so no permit rule is quoted here from the regulator. Confirm with the Kuwaiti embassy before travel.
