Legal status

Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) has no separate legal identity — it is regulated AS amphetamine: scheduled psychotropic under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 23 of 2016 (amended 2021).

Consequences if caught

Personal possession/use ~1–3 years + fine. The death penalty is NARROW — reserved for aggravated trafficking (international gangs / drugs + arms); ordinary trafficking is life. Amphetamine carries capital exposure only at the aggravated-trafficking tier.

If prescribed or medical

Prescription stimulant via strictly controlled medical channels; carrying it without a local permit/prescription risks arrest.

In Jordan (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act No. 23 of 2016), general trafficking draws 1–12 years, rising to up to 25 years in aggravating circumstances; possession for personal use (a small or first-time amount) draws about 3 months–2 years plus a 1,000–3,000 JOD fine. There is no medical cannabis.
