- Federal: Schedule II. PCP is listed under its chemical name, PHENCYCLIDINE, at 21 CFR 1308.12(e) — DEA code 7471. Schedule II substances have an accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse; manufacture, distribution and possession without authorisation are federal offences.

- Not available on prescription for human use. Phencyclidine has no current human medical application in the United States.
