Not individually verified

We have not confirmed that Nitrous Oxide specifically is scheduled in Tonga, so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.

What is on record
Not confirmed. Nitrous oxide, searched also as 'dinitrogen monoxide' and 'laughing gas', was checked against Schedule 1 of the Illicit Drugs Control Act, pages 21 to 23, and against Schedule 2's controlled chemicals list; neither names it. Nitrous oxide is a simple inorganic gas with no carbon skeleton at all, so it cannot share a ring system, functional group or homologous chain with any of the organic opioids, phenethylamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates or cannabinoids named in Schedule 1; the 2020 analogue clause's structure-modification and homologue routes presuppose an organic parent compound to modify, and none of the substances named in Schedule 1 could serve as one for an inorganic gas.

Confirm directly with Tonga’s national drug authority or your own embassy before you rely on anything.
