Modafinil in Timor-Leste: not individually verified
Also known as: provigil
We have not confirmed that Modafinil specifically is scheduled in Timor-Leste, so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.
- What is on record
- Not confirmed. A direct search of Anexo II to Lei n.º 2/2017, de 25 de Janeiro, for "modafinil" returned no match anywhere in Tables I to VI; Table II-B's amphetamine-type stimulant entries do not include it under that or any synonym, so on the schedule as printed modafinil is not a "droga" under article 2(d) and not a "precursor" under article 2(e). This table-absence is not treated here as a settled negative answer, because Lei n.º 2/2017 does not close itself: article 3(3) allows the tables to be altered by law or updated in line with changes to the international Conventions, and whether that updating clause self-executes without a further legislative act is not resolved on the text read. No amending law has been located this session, and no systematic search of the Jornal da República since 2017 was completed.
Confirm directly with Timor-Leste’s national drug authority or your own embassy before you rely on anything.
