- Scheduled psychotropic under Royal Decree 17/99 (amended RD 24/2023); a controlled medicine (MoH Drug Safety Centre permit).
- Consequences if caught
- Trafficking/production is death/life eligible (Art. 43); methylphenidate is a licit medicine — carry a prescription and a Drug Safety Centre permit.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescription ADHD/narcolepsy medicine (e.g. Ritalin/Concerta) via controlled channels; carry the original prescription and any required import permit.
