Not confirmed. Methylone and methylenedioxymethcathinone returned nothing in either file. The nearest printed entry is Cathinone in Schedule I paragraph 1(a). This compound carries both the beta-ketone of a cathinone and the methylenedioxy bridge of the amphetamine series, and the volume names neither the family nor the compound. The only clause mentioning alkylenedioxy substituents is the phenethylamine generic in paragraph 1(c), which is printed with a substituent position missing. This row sits across two chemical families at once and is reached by no entry in either. Nothing in this cell rests on an absence being the whole answer: the Misuse of Drugs Regulations are subsidiary law, and the list that decides whether a substance is a controlled drug at all is the Act's own Second Schedule, which section 4 divides into Parts I, II and III for Class A, Class B and Class C.     Cathinone is printed in Belize's Misuse of Drugs Regulations at Schedule I paragraph 1(a), in the Misuse of Drugs Act Chapter 103 volume of the Subsidiary Laws of Belize, Revised Edition 2020, which shows the subsidiary laws as at 31 December 2020. The volume prints it on one line with a second entry, as Cathinone Cocoa leaf, with the line break between the two entries lost. That is how the page is set, checked against the rendered page image and not only against the text layer. That schedule's heading reads «CONTROLLED DRUGS SUBJECT TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF REGULATIONS 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 23, 25 AND 26.» The subsidiary law made under Chapter 103 therefore calls what it lists a controlled drug, and this substance is one of them. A second cathinone sits lower down. Cathine is printed in Schedule III paragraph 1(a), which carries a lighter set of regulation duties than Schedule I. Two related alkaloids, two different schedules, and the row for each is different. No class is given here. Class follows from Part I, Part II or Part III of the Act's Second Schedule under section 4, and the subsidiary volume read for this row prints no part of that schedule and uses the words Class A, Class B and Class C nowhere at all.
