Is Methamphetamine legal in Venezuela?

Legal status
Prohibited — Methamphetamine is a controlled substance in Venezuela under Ley Organica de Drogas, Gaceta Oficial No. 39.510 of 15 September 2010, arts. 149 and 153. Venezuela is a party to the 1971 Convention on Psychotropic Substances (Schedule II) and the national schedules give effect to that listing.
Consequences if caught
Article 149: trafficking, sale, supply, distribution, concealment, transport or storage is punished with 15 to 25 years. Where the quantity does not exceed 5,000 g of marihuana, 1,000 g of cocaine or cocaine-based narcotic substances, 60 g of poppy derivatives or 500 units of synthetic drugs, the penalty is 12 to 18 years. Where the quantity exceeds the art. 153 limits but not 500 g of marihuana, 50 g of cocaine, 10 g of poppy derivatives or 100 units of synthetic drugs, the penalty is 8 to 12 years.
If prescribed or medical
The Ley Organica de Drogas confines licit handling to authorised medical and scientific channels; there is no ordinary prescription route for a prohibited street drug.
Documentation
No lawful personal-import route for a controlled narcotic; licit medicines require the authorisation regime of the Ley Organica de Drogas.
