Mephedrone (4-MMC) in Guyana: not individually verified
Also known as: meow meow
We have not confirmed that Mephedrone (4-MMC) specifically is scheduled in Guyana, so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.
- What is on record
- Not confirmed. The applied cell states this row as controlled, and the only string it offers for the placement is a Spanish search term that the Act does not print. Re-checked against the instrument itself: mephedrone is absent from the consolidation under every name and stem tried, namely mephedron, methylmethcathinone and methcathinone. The control is that cocaine, morphine and cannabis are all present in the same file. Part I names ten: «DET», «DMPH», «DMT», «(+)-LYSERGIDE», «Mescaline», «Parahexyl», «psilocne, psilotsin», «PSILOCYBINE», «STP, DOM» and «Tetrahydrocannabinols, all isomers». Part II names six: «AMPHETAMINE», «DEXAMPHETAMINE», «METHAMPHETAMINE», «METHYLPHENIDATE», «PHENCYCLIDINE» and «PHENMETRAZINE». Part III names five: «AMOBARBITAL», «CYCLOBARBITAL», «GLUTETHIMIDE», «PENTOBARBITAL» and «SECOBARBITAL». Those are Parts I to III of the Second Schedule, twenty one entries, read off the page images of pages 122 and 123 at 170 dpi and not only from the text layer. The Schedule continues on page 124 with a Part IV of eleven entries, «AMFEPRAMONE», «BARBITAL», «ethchlorvynol», «ETHINAMATE», «MEPROBAMATE», «METHAQUALONE», «METHYL-PHENOBARBITAL», «METHYPRYLON», «PHENOBARBITAL», «PIPRADROL» and «SPA», and this row is not among those either. So nothing read here places this row, and the applied cell's assertion of control is not supported by the text it cites. This is recorded as not confirmed rather than as a finding that the substance is uncontrolled, because the Minister's power to amend has not been searched for orders made under it. The version horizon, stated outright because an absence without one expires silently and says nothing about having expired: the lists read are the First to Fourth Schedules to the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Cap. 10:10 as it stands at L.R.O. 1/2012, and the Minister may amend the Schedules by order, so this does not rule out a later addition. The Part numbers in this cell are read from the Act itself and are not printed in the quoted extract the dossier carries for this row, which is a search string.
