Mephedrone (4-MMC) in Dominica: not individually verified
Also known as: meow meow
We have not confirmed that Mephedrone (4-MMC) specifically is scheduled in Dominica, so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.
- What is on record
- Not confirmed. No entry for Mephedrone was found in Part I, Part II or Part III of the Third Schedule to the Drugs (Prevention of Misuse) Act, Chapter 40:07, on a reading of the three complete printed lists as page images at the revision note «L.R.O. 1/1991» printed in the footer of those pages. No cathinone is printed in Parts I to III. The nearest printed entry is the Class B «Methylamphetamine», from which mephedrone differs by a beta ketone and a ring methyl. Part II paragraph 2 reaches a stereoisomeric form only and paragraph 3 a salt, so neither difference is bridged, and the Schedule prints no beta-keto and no tolyl clause. The absence is bounded by that revision and by nothing further: section 4(3) lets the Minister amend Parts I to III by Order after consulting the Advisory Council, Orders of that kind are published separately, and this consolidation reproduces none made after the note its Schedule pages carry. So about thirty five years of possible additions sit outside what was read, and that gap is why this row is left open here rather than published as a finding that the substance is uncontrolled in Dominica.
