Is Memantine legal in Singapore?

- Memantine is a prescription-only medicine, not a controlled drug: it is registered as a therapeutic product with the HSA (e.g. Memantine Mevon, SIN15300P) and does not appear in the schedules of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
- Consequences if caught
- Memantine falls outside the Misuse of Drugs Act, so Singapore's controlled-drug regime does not reach this approved medicine; unauthorised sale of a POM is a Health Products Act offence only.
- If prescribed or medical
- Prescribed for moderate-to-severe Alzheimer's dementia.
- Documentation
- Memantine is HSA-registered and listed in the National Drug Formulary; travellers carry it lawfully with a prescription.
