Is Kratom legal in Turkey?
- Legal status
- Kratom is controlled in Turkey — kratom and its principal alkaloid mitragynine were added to the national controlled-substances list (reported 2014); manufacture, sale and possession are penalised. The alkaloids are controlled jointly with whole-leaf kratom, not under a separate isolate regime.
- Consequences if caught
- Unauthorised possession, supply or trafficking of a controlled substance is prosecutable under Turkish law (imprisonment).
- If prescribed or medical
- No lawful medical route — kratom has no Turkish marketing authorisation and is not prescribable.
- Documentation
- No lawful personal-import route for a controlled substance.
