Is Ephedrine legal in Turkey?

- Regulated as a chemical PRECURSOR (1988 UN Convention Table I — a methamphetamine precursor), NOT as a scheduled narcotic; a controlled precursor (1988 Table I) administered by TİTCK (licensing + e-notification). Also a prescription pharmaceutical. Not a scheduled narcotic itself.
- Consequences if caught
- Illicit import/diversion of a controlled precursor is an offence under Turkey's precursor/narcotics-control law (imprisonment + fine; TİTCK sanctions), distinct from narcotic-drug trafficking.
- If prescribed or medical
- Also a pharmacy/prescription decongestant-bronchodilator medicine subject to sales limits; carry documentation for a personal supply.
- Documentation
- Controlled medicines (opioids — tramadol/codeine/oxycodone/morphine; ADHD stimulants such as Ritalin/Adderall; some sedatives) are high-risk: carry original packaging plus a doctor's letter, check the TİTCK classification, and bring only the minimum quantity needed. Undocumented controlled medicines create criminal exposure. Cannabis seeds are prohibited to import.
