Alcohol in U.S. Virgin Islands (US): not individually verified

Also known as: booze

Not individually verified

We have not confirmed that Alcohol specifically is scheduled in U.S. Virgin Islands (US), so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.

What is on record
Not confirmed. Alcohol is not named in any entry of the federal schedules, 21 CFR 1308.11 to 1308.15 as in force on 30 September 2026, the eCFR text read at https://www.ecfr.gov/api/versioner/v1/full/2026-09-30/title-21.xml?part=1308 on 3 October 2026. 21 U.S.C. 802(6) defines controlled substance so that it 'does not include distilled spirits, wine, malt beverages, or tobacco'. The territory's own schedules at 19 V.I.C. sec. 595 could not be read in this run, and the territory can control what the federal schedules do not, so whether it is controlled here is not established. Territorial drinking age, licensing and public consumption rules were not read.

Confirm directly with U.S. Virgin Islands (US)’s national drug authority or your own embassy before you rely on anything.
