Is Adderall legal in Philippines?

Confirmed against a primary sourceVerified July 13, 2026
Legal status
Adderall (mixed amphetamine salts) has no separate legal identity — it is regulated AS amphetamine: prohibited/controlled dangerous drug under RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002).
Consequences if caught
Import/sale/trafficking carries life imprisonment + a large fine. The death penalty was abolished nationally by RA 9346 (2006), so RA 9165's capital wording is read down to reclusion perpetua — no capital exposure. (Note the documented risk of extrajudicial anti-drug violence.)
If prescribed or medical
Prescription stimulant via strictly controlled medical channels; carrying it without a local permit/prescription risks arrest.
Documentation
Carry a valid prescription for any controlled medicine; an unlawful or fraudulent prescription is itself penalised under RA 9165. Foreigners receive no leniency.
