7-Hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) in Samoa: not individually verified
We have not confirmed that 7-Hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) specifically is scheduled in Samoa, so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.
- What is on record
- Not confirmed. 7-hydroxymitragynine is not named in the First, Second, or Third Schedule of the Narcotics Act 1967 (1967 No. 3), official version as at 31 December 2023, and is not a listed controlled precursor in the Fourth Schedule. It is an alkaloid found in kratom (Mitragyna speciosa), itself not named as a prohibited plant under section 2 of the Act. Section 5 lets the Head of State add a substance to the Schedules by order on the advice of Cabinet; whether such an order has added 7-hydroxymitragynine since the 2023 consolidation is not established from the sources searched, so its absence from the Schedules is reported as unverified rather than as a settled legal position.
Confirm directly with Samoa’s national drug authority or your own embassy before you rely on anything.
