7-Hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) in Dominica: not individually verified
We have not confirmed that 7-Hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) specifically is scheduled in Dominica, so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.
- What is on record
- Not confirmed. No entry for 7-hydroxymitragynine was found in Part I, Part II or Part III of the Third Schedule to the Drugs (Prevention of Misuse) Act, Chapter 40:07, on a reading of the three complete printed lists as page images at the revision note «L.R.O. 1/1991» printed in the footer of those pages. No alkaloid of the genus Mitragyna is printed in Parts I to III, and no plant of that genus either. Part IV is the Schedule's own account of the plant material it covers and it defines four expressions only, cannabinol derivatives, coca leaf, concentrate of poppy-straw and the opium group, so the printed plant list is closed and this alkaloid's parent plant is outside it. The oxidised metabolite is not reached by any route the Schedule prints. The absence is bounded by that revision and by nothing further: section 4(3) lets the Minister amend Parts I to III by Order after consulting the Advisory Council, Orders of that kind are published separately, and this consolidation reproduces none made after the note its Schedule pages carry. So about thirty five years of possible additions sit outside what was read, and that gap is why this row is left open here rather than published as a finding that the substance is uncontrolled in Dominica.
