3-MMC in Belize: not individually verified

Also known as: metaphedrone

Not individually verified

We have not confirmed that 3-MMC specifically is scheduled in Belize, so this page gives no legal status. Publishing a guess here would be worse than publishing nothing. What we do know is the governing national drug law, below.

What is on record
Not confirmed. 3-MMC, methylmethcathinone and mephedrone returned nothing in either file. The nearest printed entry is Cathinone in Schedule I paragraph 1(a), the parent alkaloid, with Cathine separately printed in Schedule III paragraph 1(a). The volume names the two natural cathinones individually and carries no cathinone family rule, so a ring methylated synthetic cathinone is not reached by either entry on the face of the text. This row is the 3-methyl isomer, and the volume does not name even the better known 4-methyl one. Nothing in this cell rests on an absence being the whole answer: the Misuse of Drugs Regulations are subsidiary law, and the list that decides whether a substance is a controlled drug at all is the Act's own Second Schedule, which section 4 divides into Parts I, II and III for Class A, Class B and Class C. That schedule is in the Substantive Laws volume of Chapter 103 and was not among the four instruments in the subsidiary volume read, so this row is left open rather than answered. The search recorded above covers the Misuse of Drugs Regulations, the Cannabis Violation Tickets Regulations and the Industrial Hemp Regulations as the Revised Edition 2020 volume prints them, showing the subsidiary laws as at 31 December 2020, together with the 1990 Act text. The schedule placement in this cell is read off the instrument and is not printed in the quoted dossier extract, which names the Act's schedules only as a range.
